Award nominated Illustrator Tim Bradstreet was born February 16, 1967 in Cheverly, Maryland. Primarily a self-taught illustrator, he has been working professionally since graduating from high school in 1985. Forgoing institutional art training, Tim Bradstreet jumped into the world of Role Playing Games and distinguished himself on several titles, most notably, Shadowrun (FASA Inc), and Vampire: The Masquerade (White Wolf), and by 1990 had made the leap into the comics field both as a sequential artist, and inker. In 1991 Bradstreet found his true calling as a cover illustrator on the Dark Horse Comics project, Andrew Vachss’ Hard Looks, and by 1996 made the leap from the independents to the big leagues creating iconic cover imagery for such diverse titles as, The Unknown Soldier, Human Target, and Gangland. In 1997 Bradstreet landed the coveted “regular cover artist” role on two major comics titles - DC/Vertigo’s flagship title, John Constantine: Hellblazer, and Marvel’s The Punisher. Between both titles, Bradstreet created over 180 covers over the following decade and has left an indelible mark on both characters while simultaneously re-establishing them for a new generation.
In between, Tim Bradstreet has illustrated everything from RPGs, trading cards, and comic books, to book covers, album sleeve art, movie posters, and concept artwork for film. In 1997 Bradstreet was voted Best Artist by the Horror Writers Guild Of America. In 2000 Tim joined director Guillermo del Toro as a conceptual artist to help realize the film Blade II. In the fall of 2003 Tim began work on a string of movie posters for the Marvel/Lion’s Gate film, The Punisher; a rare opportunity to influence the film incarnation of a character he’d so deftly impacted in comics. Bradstreet is now realizing his long time dream to work in film as a conceptual artist, production designer and creator, counting such luminaries as Guillermo del Toro (Hellboy, Pan’s Labyrinth), Frank Darabont (The Green Mile, The Mist), Clive Barker (Hellraiser, Nightbreed), and Michael J. Bassett (Solomon Kane) among his many artistic admirers.
In 2007 Bradstreet entered new territory as a production designer for the 3D gothic horror film Dark Country, starring and directed by RAW Entertainment partner, actor Thomas Jane (The Mist, Stander, *61). Also with Thomas Jane and Steve Niles, Bradstreet co-created the sci-fi-horror comic series Bad Planet.
In 2009, Tim Bradstreet contributed over 50 illustrations for Robert E. Howard’s El Borak and Other Desert Adventures for Del Rey. In the fall of 2010 Bradstreet begins a new chapter as cover artist bringing his dark vision to Clive Barker’s Hellraiser, and exploring new directions with Rogue Angel, an ongoing series of novels. Bradstreet is currently putting the finishing touches on his creation, The Devil’s Commandos with screenwriter Todd Farmer (Drive Angry) – A film project to star Thomas Jane. His spare time is spent working on the illustrated novelization of his long-awaited magnum opus, Red Sky Diary. Bradstreet, wife Missy, and daughter Lydia reside in San Diego California.
