Thomas Jane starred for three years on HBO’s critically acclaimed comedy series, “Hung,” for which he was nominated thrice for a Golden Globe Award. Thomas recently finished production on RED MACHINE, a thriller starring Billy Bob Thornton, James Marsden... and huge freaking bear! Last year, Thomas starred in LOL, a comedy starring Miley Cyrus, Ashley Greene and Demi Moore; and I MELT WITH YOU, an independent thriller Jane executive produced and starred in opposite Rob Lowe and Jeremy Piven with Mark Pellington as director. Thomas Jane recently made his feature directorial debut on DARK COUNTRY, a psycho-noir he also starred in with Ron Perlman and Lauren German. He'll be putting on the director's hat again for his Western entitled A MAGNIFICENT DEATH FROM A SHATTERED HAND.
Among Thomas Jane’s previous film credits are the following: John Madden’s KILL SHOT with Diane Lane and Mickey Rourke; Frank Darabont’s THE MIST; the action-adventure MUTANT CHRONICLES with John Malkovich and Ron Perlman; Marvel’s THE PUNISHER in which he starred as Frank Castle, the titular character; Bronwen Hughes’s STANDER, the true story of Andre Stander, a South African police officer turned bank robber; 61*, the Emmy-nominated HBO film directed by Billy Crystal and co-starring Barry Pepper, in which he starred as legendary baseball hero Mickey Mantle; THE SWEETEST THING with Cameron Diaz and Christina Applegate; EDEN with Samantha Morton, which premiered at the 2001 Venice Film Festival; the independent thriller UNDER SUSPICION, in which he starred opposite Morgan Freeman and Gene Hackman; ORIGINAL SIN with Angelina Jolie and Antonio Banderas; Lawrence Kasdan’s DREAMCATCHER with Morgan Freeman; Renny Harlin’s DEEP BLUE SEA; Terrence Malick’s THE THIN RED LINE; and Paul Thomas Anderson’s MAGNOLIA and BOOGIE NIGHTS.
In addition to his busy career as an actor and filmmaker, Thomas Jane founded Raw Studios in partnership with Eisner Award-nominated illustrator/production designer, Tim Bradstreet. Raw Studios is a leading producer of high end, “elevated genre” graphic novels using the best artists working today.
